Advocates met yesterday in the Civil Chamber to discuss a
draft law on lawyers prepared in line with the judicial reform plans initiated
by President Ts.Elbegdorj. MP Kh.Temuujin opened the discussion and explained
the overall goals of the draft and explained its salient provisions.
Advocates stated their opinions on how the lawyers’ association should be run
and how its financial requirements would be met. They also wanted representation
of lawyers in Parliament, and legal safeguards for the security of advocates.

Temuujin also wrapped up the discussion and asked lawyers to make suggestions
on the basis of consensus.
