Speaker D.Demberel yesterday sent his greetings on behalf of Parliament to participants at the national forum to discuss state service reforms. He said development and progress of the country, and the life of households and citizens, depend on the work done by state officials and thus any reform that will ensure improved performance from them will serve the interests of everybody.
The law on state service was passed by Parliament in 1995 and has been amended twice. The present reform is aimed more at their work than at policy and structure. The Speaker urged all state organizations to select their staff in an open and fair process, and put them through professional training.
