Some MPs including D.Odbayar, B.Batbayar, Ya.Batsuuri, Kh.Jeckei, and D.Khaynkhyarvaa told the Government meeting on Wednesday that they were against the decision by Parliament to sell 10 percent of the total shares of Erdenes Tavantolgoi to Mongolian businesses. They have prepared a draft resolution to cancel the decision and to distribute these shares to citizens. The meeting supported the move in principle. Explaining their opposition to the present decision, the MPs said it would make the economy in general more dependent on mining. They also felt the criteria for selling the shares were not clear.
