The Court of Appeals today
dismissed the case against the Government and upheld the decision of the Court
of Sukhbaatar district that it has not been responsible for any specific act
leading to damage to the nature and the environment. The United Movements for
Rivers and Lakes had appealed against the judgment, claiming that illegal grant
of mining licenses and inadequate monitoring of mining operations had resulted
in water sources drying up.
