The Ministry of Nature,
Environment and Tourism and the Citizens Council have decided at a joint
meeting to establish a database of illegal logging and felling of trees by both
individuals and organized groups. The data will be submitted to the Forest
Authority and other concerned organizations to be displayed monthly. Citizens
and NGOs from all over Mongolia will be encouraged to put data on the site.

Participants at the meeting recommended
corrective action against those breaking the law three times or more and also
proposed amendments to the law on forests.
