Yesterday saw the much-awaited inauguration of Independence Square in front of Tengis cinema at a ceremony attended by Premier S.Batbold, Mayor G.Munkhbayar, MPP Secretary General U.Khurelsukh, Chief of Chingeltei district D.Ganbold and other officials. The square now has a monument marking the 2,200th anniversary of the Khunnu state, the 805th anniversary of the Great Mongolian State, the 100th anniversary of Independence and the 90th of the People’s Revolution.

The new name for the square and the monument are the brainchild of Mayor G.Munkhbayar. The architects and the builders were presented awards at the ceremony.
