There was widespread support at the just concluded Asian Security Summit for Defense Minister for L.Bold’s proposal to set up a regional cooperation mechanism to mitigate the effects of large scale disasters. The International Institute of Strategic Studies and the Government of Singapore jointly organized the 10th edition of the annual conference from June 3 to 5.
Bold led the Mongolian team to the summit. It included the Chief of the Armed Forces, Lt.-Gen Ts.Byambajav, Advisor to the President M.Batchimeg, Director of the National Institute of Strategic Research, D.Ganbat, and N.Tulga from the Embassy in Singapore.

The forum focused on nuclear arms and security concerns in the Asia-Pacific region. In one-to-one meetings on the sidelines of the conference, Bold discussed bilateral relations and cooperation in the defense sector with his counterparts from China, Vietnam, Singapore and Thailand.
