Parliament finally passed on Thursday the draft law on agriculture goods
and raw material exchange, with approval from 37 of the 41 members present. The
law comes into effect on January 1, 2012. Before that, the Government would
prepare rules and regulations and make other arrangements for the exchange to
start work.
The exchange will follow the law on companies, as recommended by the Standing
Committee on Nature, Food and Agriculture. A Regulating Council with 13 members
chosen from state organizations and NGOs will be set up, and its head would be
elected every three years. The Council will report to the Government.
