Police have reminded bike riders that they must wear proper safety helmets before hitting the road as the weather warms up. They have also been asked not to drive motorcycles that make too much noise and do not have legible license plates. Scooters and bicycle drivers have also been asked to wear helmets, though it is not legally mandatory for them.

Last year there were 146 motorcycle accidents in Mongolia, which has 29,829 registered motorcycles, 245 of them in Ulaanbaatar.
