Parliament on Friday discussed several draft laws, on
education, health, excise tax and on additional payment for state officials in remote
regions, including the Gobi. Members approved further discussion on the last.
The
draft identifies 170 soums of Bayan-Ulgii, Bayankhongor, Gobi-Altai, Zavkhan,
Uvs, Khovd, Khuvsgul, Sukhbaatar, Dornod, Uvurkhangai, Umnugobi, Uvs, Dundgobi,
Dornogobi and Gobisumber aimags and proposes 20% extra salary for state employees
there. It also proposes to exempt from customs and value added tax petroleum
and other goods coming through border points of these soums.
