NGOs working against corruption are monitoring state organizations’ work in aimags, as part of a project supported by the Anti Corruption Authority and financed by the World Bank. For example, branches of an NGO based in Uvurkhangai aimag are monitoring such work there and in Khuvsgul and Sukhbaatar aimags. The organizations they cover include the Governor’s Office, and the Department of Social Insurance. They assess the  implementation of their human resource policy, and check how the budget is spent, particularly in buying goods and services.
The NGOs given the responsibility plan to organize meetings with citizens to share their findings and to seek people’s recommendations for transparency in public service.
A team from the ACA went to Uvurkhangai aimag to see how the monitoring was proceeding and was happy to see the NGO has finished 80% of its planned work and was ready to prepare its report.
