An exhibition of art works and handicraft items from Dornogobi aimag will be inaugurated tomorrow at the UMA gallery at 10 am. The show is to mark the 80th anniversary of the aimag and will be held in Sainshand also.

The exhibition puts on view 150 works, including some by Danzanravjaa, a philosopher and saint of the 19th century, and by artists of the socialist days like L.Gavaa, D.Gurdorj, J.Tsolmonkhuu, and T.Davaasambuu, as also works of contemporary artists. It has been named “Khutagtiin nutgiin urchuud” or “artists from the saint’s native land”.

The most special items in the exhibition are works by Danzanravjaa himself, including the scenery of the musical Saran Khukhuu, and three religious paintings — Namtriin Ganzai, Shambaliin Ochirvaani Khuvilgaan, and Ezen Bogd Chinggis Khaan.
The exhibition will be ending on May 12.
