Journalists have formed an association that will work to improve public understanding of gender equality issues, to help in the work of the National Committee of Gender Equality (NCGE), to improve journalists’ own knowledge of the subject, and to use media to spread awareness of the gender issue. The association is jointly sponsored by the Parliamentary Journalists’ Union and the NCGE.
The association was inaugurated at Puma imperial hotel yesterday evening, with members of the NCGE and the PJU, and other media representatives taking part in the ceremony. It will organize meetings, conferences and trainings to generate awareness among people. It has no political interests and views the gender issue as basic for social development.
