A.Mijiddorj, assisted by pianist Lisa Rickard and members of the Wyoming Mongolian community, will give a Morin Khuur recital on April 15 at the University of Wyoming Art Museum. He will also display Mongolian material items including clothing.

Before the performance, he will discuss the history and characteristics of the instrument, stories surrounding it, its role in Mongolian culture and history, and playing techniques. The Morin Khuur is one of the masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity as identified by UNESCO.

The event is sponsored by the Wyoming Arts Council, the Wyoming Humanities Council, the University of Wyoming Department of Music and the Laramie Mongolian community.
