The third meeting of the Mongolia-the Czech Republic commission of cooperation in trade, economy, science and technology was held in Prague on March 14 and 15. The Mongolian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister for Road, Transportation and Urban Development T.Purevdorj, while Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade Milan Hovorka led the Czech team. Both sides explained their present political and economic situation and future trends in general, before exchanging opinion on how bilateral relations and cooperation could be improved. The Czechs offered help in installing European standards in Mongolian business and manufacturing. The meeting ended with the signing of a protocol of cooperation between the Governments.
Businessmen from both countries attended a forum on March 14 that was inaugurated by Purevdorj and Hovorka. Speakers from the Ministries of Road, Transport and Urban Development, and of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, and from the Foreign Investment Office described the business environment of Mongolia. Later a memorandum of cooperation in auto roads and bridge building was signed between the Union of Auto Road Construction of Mongolia and Arides LLC of the Czech Republic.
