U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Kurt Campbell and Assistant Secretary of Defense for Asian and Pacific Security Affairs Chip Gregson are on a six-day visit to Japan, Mongolia and South Korea. They will arrive in Ulaanbaatar on Thursday, to lead the U.S. delegation for the annual bilateral consultations with the Government. “This is an important opportunity to exchange views with Mongolian government officials on topics, including peacekeeping efforts, regional security and the commercial environment,” a U.S. State Department statement said.
