The Chief of the Consulate Section in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, D.Gankhuyag, has denied rumors that L.Baigalmaa, who is serving a life sentence in China for drug trafficking, is to be brought back to Mongolia. Gankhuyag said that Mongolia and China are yet to reach agreement on sending convicted prisoners to their home country. Even if China agrees to the proposal, it will have to be approved by the Standing Committee on Justice before the agreement is signed. In any case, convictions for serious crime, as in the case of Baigalmaa, will not be covered by the agreement.
