The Standing Committee on the Economy yesterday reported that it held 23 meetings during the Autumn session and working groups it set up to do preparatory work met on 50 occasions. Most of the committee’s work was taken up by the monetary policy. Another major concern was establishment of the Development Bank, which would finance strategic development programs.
The committee also worked on improving the financial capacity of the energy sector, and on ensuring more revenue from mineral resources exploitation. It reduced the number of registrations and permissions that hindered economic entities’ activity.
The committee also discussed the general budget, the Human Development Fund budget and the Social Insurance Fund budget.
