The corruption case of the Development Bank of Mongolia (DBM) is widening. The Mongolian Anti-Corruption Agency has now investigated more than 50 railway, road and construction projects and programmes all funded by DBM loans.
Former Energy Minister M.Sonompil, is now being investigated on suspicion of embezzling money from the DBM; as of 6 October, he has been forbidden to leave the country. Anti-corruption investigators have searched M.Sonompil’s house and seized documents.
