The Asian Development Bank has allocated a USD 468 million fund for Mongolia for the period 2017-2018. A standing committee of the State Great Khural (parliament) has accepted the ADB loan and confirmed the areas in which the money will be spent: USD 80 million will be used for constructing apartments for special groups, USD 130 million will be used for improving the air quality of the Mongolian capital, USD 40 million will be for renewable energy projects, and USD 50 million for the education sector.
The total ADB allocation consists of USD 404 million loan from its ordinary capital resources (OCR) and USD 64 million its concessional OCR lending.
