A team of Mongolian historical researchers led by Academician N.Ganbat, has visited Taiwan in order to study old material relating to Mongolia, held in the National Palace Museum. The research group arrived at the museum, which is one of the most famous in Asia, on 29th of September.
Under a joint project, the team will convert historical documentary treasures from the time of the Mongol Empire (1206-1368) into digital form. This material will be jointly studied with Taiwanese specialists; in addition there are plans to print books about these treasures. The project will continue for four years.
Taiwan’s National Palace Museum has 700 showpieces; many of them originating in Mongolia.
