Earlier today, 9th of October, a man bared his chest to the elements and demonstrated for an hour outside Khangarid House, where the  Ulaanbaatar City Administration is based . The temperature in the Mongolian capital at the time was minus -1 C. The man has been identified as S.Meshegee who sells goods outside the Kharhorum shopping center.

Since 19th of September, he and other hawkers have held sit-in strikes and a hunger strike on 25th. They are protesting against the UB city Mayor’s resolution banning the sale of goods and services in public places.
