A celebratory meeting marking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the National University of Mongolia (NUM) was held today at State House (6th of October). Alumni, academics, professors, lecturers, and Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh all participated in the meeting.

To coincide with the anniversary, President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga issued a decree on awarding the National University of Mongolia (NUM), with Order the Sukhbaatar. On 6th October, the medal was presented by the President’s Chief of Staff, Z.Enkhbold.

Also today, the brand new NUM library was officially opened. A total of MNT 16 billion has been spent on this new facility. The seven-storey modern and fully equipped library has two wings and a collection of 420 thousand books.

The NUM is Mongolia’s leading university; over the years since its establishment,  it has trained more than 100 thousand professionals. The NUM was awarded the Order of Labor Merit of Mongolia in 1957 on the occasion of its 15th anniversary.
