The 9th WBPF World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships & Congress will begin in the Mongolian capital on Friday (6th of October). This is the first time that Ulaanbaatar is hosting this event. 

More than 400 bodybuilders from 134 countries will compete in the championships, which are being organised by the Mongolian Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation. The 2017 bodybuilding champions will be named in 42 categories.  A total of 64 athletes from Mongolia will participate in the championships and up to four athletes in each category can participate in the championships as a host.  

Over the past few years, the growth of the sport of bodybuilding and physique sports in Mongolia has grown tremendously, largely due to  the support of the Mongolian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (MBFF). Mongolia is one of the top ranking countries in the world today. The country has won several gold medals and produced great athletes of world class quality.
