The Mongolian State Great Khural (parliament) discussed the appointment of the new Prime Minister, earlier today (4th of October). However, a total of 30 MPs from the ruling Mongolian People’s Party (MPP) were absent at parliament during the session. The MPs, in question, were those who signed the petition to dissolve J.Erdenebat’s Cabinet.

Earlier this month, lawmakers demanded that former Prime Minister J. Erdenebat resign; the charge – allegedly violating parliamentary procedures through the granting of contracts worth the equivalent of 328 million U.S. dollars to companies linked to three cabinet members.
