Mongolian State Great Khural (parliament) will discuss the appointment of the new prime minister tomorrow (4th of October). Mongolian People’s Party (MPP) has proposed U.Khurelsukh as PM. There will be no problems with this, as the MPP holds an overwhelming majority of seats.
The Mongolian President has urged the State Great Khural to approve a new cabinet and the 2018 state budget as quickly as possible.
Earlier this month, lawmakers demanded that former Prime Minister Jargaltulga Erdenebat resign for allegedly violating parliamentary procedures through the granting of contracts worth the equivalent of 328 million U.S. dollars to companies linked to three cabinet members.
