MP L.Enkh-Amgalan, director of the Standing Committee on Social Policy, Education, Culture and Science has held a meeting with representatives of the Health Workers Union. During the meeting, the two sides discussed the doctors’ pay demands. The doctors are demanding a salary increase of 50 percent in the 2018 State Budget.

Mongolian doctors have joined the teachers in demanding a salary increase. Nearly MNT 300 billion is being budgeted for the salaries of health professionals annually. If the doctors’ demands are met, it will add a further MNT 155 billion to the 2018 State Budget
