Mongolian President Kh.Battulga issued decree to award Dr Shin Young-soo, Regional Director for the Western Pacific of the World Health Organisation with the ‘Friendship’ medal for his contribution to the Mongolian health sector. Z.Enkhbold, the President’s Chief of Staff presented the medal to Dr Shin Young-soo earlier today (25th of September).

Dr Shin is the first Regional Director for the Western Pacific to come from outside the WHO. He ran unopposed for a second five-year term and was confirmed again in January 2014.
