The Mongolian baritone G.Ariunbaatar was named joint winner of the BBC’s prestigious ‘Cardiff Singer of the World’ competition. Now, the BBC is making a documentary about this young singer. Filming is currently underway in Bayan-Unjuul soum of Tuv aimag (province), which is where G.Ariunbaatar was born – a place very different from the world’s great opera theatres where he now sings.

According to D.Sonintogos, director of the Mongolian State University of Culture and Arts, the documentary film crew has already visited the university and interviewed the teachers about G.Ariunbaatar.
