On July 24th, the newly elected president of Mongolia, Kh.Battulga, called for politicians, civil servants and other people holding offshore accounts to withdraw the deposited funds from their accounts and transfer them to Mongolia within 49 days.

According to the Panama Papers. A total of 29 Mongolian citizens and 35 companies hold offshore accounts in foreign countries, 23 of them are civil servants or their relatives, according to the Mongolian Anti-Corruption Agency.

Today, 12th of September, marks  the final deadline. However, none of the citizens and companies have transferred their funds into a Mongolian bank, reports the Anti-Corruption Agency.

The following individuals are offshore account holding civil servants:

– S.Bayar, former Prime Minister

– Kh.Bum-erdene, former Deputy of Financial Regulatory Commission

-Su.Batbold, Member of Parliament

– S.Bayartsogt, former Deputy Speaker

-Ts.Sandui, chairman of Citizens’ Representative Khural
