Mongolian correction officials have announced new sentencing rules aimed at separating criminal and economic offenders; the new rules will also lighten punishment. The law amendment was approved by parliament and came into effect on 1^st of July. A total of 52 inmates were released from the 431^st detention centre on 3^rd of July. These individuals had been sentenced to six months in prison for driving under the influence of alcohol.
