The Government has decided to set up international
airports in Choibalsan of Dornod aimag, Khovd of Khovd aimag, Dalanzadgad of
Umnugobi aimag, and Murun of Khuvsgul aimag. With flights to the neighboring
countries possible from the aimags, there will be rapid development of regional
trade and economic collaboration and the present pressure on land border points
will be eased.

The airports in Dalanzadgad and Murun are planned to be
operational from May, 2012.
