The Third Maternity House in Bayanzurkh district is the last one to be working in its own building. The building, dating from 1940, was for military use and not suitable for its present purposes. It does not have enough toilets and not all rooms have sinks.

Third Maternity was meant to serve Bayanzurkh district only, but now four areas affiliated to Second Maternity have been added to it. Despite added pressure, the number of beds has not increased. Right now, 70 adults and 40 babies are sharing facilities meant for 45 patients.

Fearing infections, many women are leaving the hospital soon after giving birth.
