An exhibition of photographs of
facets of the life of handicapped citizens was opened on Friday in Government
House to mark Handicapped Citizens’ Rights Day, observed internationally on
December 3 since 1981. Mongolia has 113,000 people with handicaps, and most of
the 39,000 children among them do not go to school.
The Handicapped Citizens Union
has expressed the hope that the Government and Parliament members will become
more aware of the plight of the handicapped after seeing the exhibition.
