President Ts. Elbegdorj received representatives of the World Bank led
by Mr.Klaus Rohland, Regional Director in Charge of Mongolia, and Ms. Coralie
Gevers, new Country Manager and Resident Representative, yesterday.
The President said, “The World Bank has assisted Mongolia a lot. The bank has
been instrumental to implement international programs in Mongolia. At present,
the draft of Organic Budget Law has been submitted to Parliament. It is
important to give budget spending power to local authorities by
decentralization. “
He said Mongolia needs to fight against corruption, improve the social
environment, follow the rule of law, realize justice and implement judicial
reforms.
Ms. Gevers said she had “listened to and read” the President’s speech at the special
session of Parliament. “I will work for Mongolia with all my efforts. Financial
stability is vital. There are many things to learn from Mongolia,” she said.
