According topreliminary estimates announced by T. Badamjunai, Minister of Food, Agriculture
and Light Industry, the harvest is expected to be 329,800 tons wheat, 156,100
tons potato, 90,100 tons vegetable, 20,500 tons oilseeds like sunflower and
rapeseed, and 19,600 tons of livestock fodder. The Minister said the estimates have had to be
lowered following the warm weather in June and July. Still, he was hopeful
production will be enough to meet the entire domestic demand for flour in
2010-2011.
