Ts.Jargalsaikhan, advisor at the Foreign Relations Department
of Parliament, has been sentenced to 17 years in prison for passing on through
email to Chinese officials secret documents related to the Speaker’s visit to
Russia. He is the son of D.Tsakhilgaan, a former Mongolian Ambassador to China.
Journalists were not allowed to attend the trial at the
Chingeltei district court which passed the sentence on Thursday. Two persons working at the Foreign
Relations Ministry, B.Bolor and
G.Baigalmaa, were also charged in the case but were acquitted.
