Asashoryu
called on Prime Minister S.Batbold yesterday to invite him to attend the ritual
hair cutting ceremony on October 3 to formally mark his retirement from sumo.
The ceremony will take place in Kokugikan palace in Japan. The Prime Minister
said all Mongolia was proud of the yokozuna for raising the honor of the
country and hoped the ceremony will open a new page in Mongolia-Japan’s
relations. He also wished Asashoryu a successful and happy future.
More
than 16,000 guests are being invited to the ceremony, including political
figures, businessmen and celebrities. Of them, 100 are Mongolians.
