Ambassador to
Australia Ts.Jambaldorj recently gave a lecture
on the foreign policy of Mongolia and how its diplomatic service works
at the School of Pacific and Asian Studies of the Australian National
University. The event was organized to mark the 100th anniversary of Mongolia’s
adoption of modern diplomatic practices and to popularize Mongolian studies in
Australia.
The audience heard Jambaldorj explain the policy of Mongolia to Asia-Pacific
regions, Mongolia-Russia and Mongolia-China relations and its stand on the
Korean peninsula problem. A lively question and answer session followed the
talk.
The school will offer a course on the place of the Mongol Empire in world
history in the new academic year. Enrolment has already reached 23. The course
will be taught by Dr. Li Narangua and Dr. Robert Krib. Video lessons to
teach elementary Mongolian, prepared
with help from Indiana University in the USA, will also be available and has
drawn 12 students.
