The dollar rate remains at MNT 2000. To review the currency information, the dollar is currently sold at MNT 1998 on currency markets, such as “Naiman Sharga” whilst commercial banks are currently selling one dollar for MNT 2000-2002. Last week, the long-awaited financing contract for the Oyu-Tolgoi mine was signed, under which the company is receiving a USD 4.4 billion loan from 15 international banks. Therefore, there are economic expectations that the dollar rate will fall when Mongolia receives the USD 4.4 billion.
