The “Amnesty Law” working group has provided the following information: During the implementation of the law, the state has given amnesty to 1252 people. The sentences of 1760 prisoners have been reduced by 2 years and 673 prisoners have been freed (Amnesty Law, Provision 5.1). Also, under Provision 7.1st, 284 criminal cases related to 338 people have been considered invalid.
To summarize these figures, no less than 4023 prisoners have been involved in the “Amnesty Law”, either through release or reduction of sentence.
Finally, approximately 100,000 people, who have been involved in minor offences such as undeclared social insurance or confiscation of driver’s licence have also benefitted from the amnesty.
