The current hot spell may affect growth of cereal and
vegetable plants, according to officials in the Ministry of Food, Agriculture
and Light Industry. However, they have reassured that there is no cause for
panic. Agriculture in Russia is under more stress because of lack of rainfall
and high temperatures.

The Ministry says that more wheat has been planted than
needed to meet  Mongolia’s domestic
demand, so even if the yield is less than initially hoped for, there would be
no rise in prices if flour.
