During the first nine months of 2015, Mongolia imported 875.9 thousand tons of petroleum, which has brought MNT 212.1 billion into the State Budget.
In 2014, the price of petroleum fell by about 40% and in 2015 by 25%. Currently, the petroleum import companies are making a 13%-17%. The State considers that this should be reduced to 7%. Subsequently, the Government plans to increase the special petroleum tax by MNT 200.000-300.000 per ton in the Clarification to the 2015 State Budget. As a result, it is expected that the State will receive MNT 43.5 billion in tax revenue before the end of 2015 and MNT 200 billion in 2016.
