Consumer
rights officials from China recently visited Mongolia at the invitation of the Clean
Competition Department and held meetings with their counterparts here on how to
protect the rights of customers.
Chinese
consumer can submit complaints and suggestions by calling 12315. If investigation
concludes that rights have been violated, the offending organization has to pay
a fine twice the cost of the product or service, and also compensate the consumer for the inconvenience caused. The laws
are clear and the measures are strict. Thus, occurrence is relatively few.
The
Chinese team felt the fine of up to MNT250,000 in Mongolia was too little and suggested amendments to the law to make it higher .
Both
sides agreed to pay attention to the issue of protecting the rights of Mongolians
in China.
