Today, the Legal Standing Committee discussed the Presidential Veto on the “Amnesty Law”, as a result of which the members decided to accept the veto with 68.8% votes. The ‘minority’ members of the Legal Standing Committee, who did not accept the veto, were: Deputy Speaker R.Gonchigdorj, MP Ts.Oyungerel, Minister of Building and Urban Construction Z.Bayanselenge, Deputy Prime Minister Ts.Oyunbaatar, and MP O.Baasankhuu. Those members who pressed the “accept button” include Speaker of Parliament Z.Enkhbold, director of the Legal Standing Committee D.Ganbat and MPs L.Bold, Kh.Temuujin, S.Byambatsogt, U.Enkhtuvshin, Ts.Nyamdorj, Y.Otgonbayr, O.Sodbileg, and D.Lundeejantsan.
Following the Legal Standing Committee, Parliament discussed the the Presidential Veto on the “Amnesty Law”. It was accepted, however, some questions remained regarding Article 8.
