The 20th annual meeting of the Asia Pacific Forum (APF) of National Human Rights Institutions and Biennial Conference will take place in Ulaanbaatar on 26th-28th August. The heads of the National Human Rights Commission provided the following information: “Preventing torture and protecting the rights of people held in places of detention” will be the focus of the APF’s Third Biennial Conference. The 15 Asia Pacific countries will participate as full members and 7 countries as associate members; Denmark and Kyrgyzstan will be present as observers. Also, during the Conference, the APF Torture Prevention Ambassadors will have a meeting on 23rd-30th August.
