Mongolia has started to phase out the analogue system of TV broadcasting. This began on 15th July 2015. The operation will last until 5th October and it the first stage of launching the 4G network system.
The analogue phase out schedule is as follows:
1. In Ulaanbaatar between 25th September and 5th October
2. In Tuv and Umnugovi Aimags between 15th July and 25th July
3. In Bayan-Ulgii and Khuvsgul Aimags between 5th September and 5th October
4. In Selenge Aimag between 5th August and 25th August
The technical requirements for the transfer from analogue to digital broadcasting system
1. A television, DVB-T2/MPEG-4 standard
2. Set-top box (decimeter wave antenna) DVB-T2/MPEG-4 standard
Analogue users who watch six TV channels via antenna must make the necessary technical changes.
