The “International Search and Rescue Advisory Group” (INSARAG) is a UN organization, which consists of 80 countries and organizations and provides help to the member countries when they are not able to deal with a natural disaster such as an earthquake. According to INSARAG, the rescue teams are divided into three categories: high, medium, and low. Mongolia is preparing to have a middle-level rescue team with 50-60 rescue officers. The high-level rescue team has to be airborne, have heavy-duty equipment and a team of over one hundred professional rescue officers. Russia, Korea, and Japan have such high-level rescue teams.

Mongolia will send 20 rescue officers to the Chinese Earthquake Training Center for initial stage training.

Next year, after the whole Mongolia  team is formed, UN experts will officially evaluate it.
