The President of Mongolia paid an official visit to Russia to participate in the celebration of the 70th anniversary of World War II by the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, where the two had a tete a tete and official dinner.
At the beginning of the meeting, President Putin said, “Your Excellency, President of Mongolia, we would like to express our gratitude for accepting our invitation and participating in the ceremony. During World War II Mongolia provided great assistance to Russia, thus, it is an honor for us to invite you to participate in this important event.
"I am glad to note that our two countries have had a friendly relationship, starting from the beginning. During this meeting we will discuss several issues on the importance of Mongolian and Russian cooperation, with a greater state of participation.
"Honored President, according to your invitation we organized a trilateral meeting of Mongolia, Russia and China. I should note that during this visit we will also have the chance to meet again."
President Ts.Elbegdorj replied, “Let me express my gratitude for receiving us and having a discussion regarding the relationship of the two countries. I am very glad to have an opportunity to honor and congratulate you on the celebration of the victory of World War II, on behalf of the population. As a neighbor country with a close and friendly relationship, we sincerely wish you success.”
The talked continued during an official dinner, where the two sides discussed future cooperation between the two countries on economic issues, infrastructure, and a broad range of issues.
