Since 2011, the Government of Mongolia and the Mongolian Chamber of Commerce have organized an annual ceremony granting the title of "TOP-100" to the nation's best businesses.
Prime Minister of Mongolia Ch.Saikhanbileg and Minister of Finance and Economy J.Erdenebat participated in the ceremony and presented awards to the top 100 companies.
During the ceremony, Prime Minister Ch.Saikhanbileg stressed, “One of the priorities of the government is to improve the business environment, to support businesses, to lead company governance to a new stage, to improve the legal environment for employees and employers, to improve the investment conditions and environment, to maintain the businesse activity of foreign and domestic organizations, and to cooperate with enterprises."
The Prime Minister highlighted that the contributions of the top companies to the Mongolian economy are great, and that the private sector contributes to 70 percent of GDP, 90 percent of jobs, and plays an important role in sustaining the state budget.
The top 100 enterprises in 2014 were selected based on total taxes paid, sales, number of employees, financial indicators, and also based on official quantitative indices of the Ministry of Finance and Economy, General Taxation Authority, and General Social Insurance Authority.
Companies selected as the top 100 enterprises in 2014 generated 30 percent of funds for the state budget, or 2.5 trillion MNT.
